Take a few planning steps ahead of holiday travel with young children

Travel with young children can be challenging because it often breaks your familiar routine. The American Academy of Pediatrics has a few holiday travel trip and visit safety tips:

Clean up immediately after parties to reduce the risk of possible choking on leftover food or drinks

You may visit a home that isn't childproof, so be sure to scope out any potential dangers to your child

In cold weather, children in car safety seats should wear thin layers with a blanket over the top of the harness straps if needed, not a thick coat or snowsuit.

Traveling and visiting family members can increase your child's stress levels. Trying to stick to your child's usual routines, including sleep schedules and timing of naps, can help you and your child enjoy the holidays and reduce stress.

The Mother Goose Time curriculum weaves 33 research-based skills through monthly activities and discovery projects. Skill domains include Social Emotional Development, Physical Development, Language & Literacy, Mathematics & Reasoning, Social Studies, Science, Creative Development, and Second Language Acquisition. Each activity integrates two, and more often three, domains to offer children rich multidisciplinary learning opportunities.
Each day in Mother Goose Time includes a meet-n-greet, circle time to discuss the question of the day, free play, a snack, small group activities, outside play, story time, rest time, discovery time for teachers and students to focus one-on-one, and music closing time.
